lyrics

You were the one
I know you were
Bringing fire to my fur
Bringing water to my eyes

We sang beneath a grinning moon
Everything flowers ready to bloom
But now they can't
Cause there's no light

In Xanadu we spent our days
Picking mushrooms with golden blades
Dancing feathers
In the wind

But then they came like burning hail
Chaffy grain beneath the thresher's flail
The doubts, the doubts
Inside your heart

Sometimes the rain
It stops to pour
It was the same with your love
The clouds, I guess that they were smiles

The sky it's clear but there's no sun
Just some sort of emptiness
Some sort of burning
Grip of steel inside my soul

But there's no stopping all the dreams I have
The colours in my mind
They swirl, they dance, they sing
They do all the things that we would do

They're two peacocks in the sky
The stars fall as they glide
It's a different rain
But golden dust makes pretty rivers

They run through wood and dale
I have a boat but no sail
I try to find the way
To what I never knew I had

But the dust blinds my eyes
Caresses my skin
A disguise of golden colours
That I don't want to wear

Fake it
Until you make it
That's what they say, anyway
It sounds like solid advice

Singing
I'll keep on singing
Despite all of those songs
I don't want to sing anymore

Anymore
Anymore
Anymore

You were the one
I know you were
But the fire is now gone
There's just water in my eyes

It was in truth a waning moon
And all those things that were to bloom
They were only
On my mind

In Xanadu there are no days
Just a flow of summer haze
Happy moments
Intertwined

I forgive the burning hail
The chaffy grain, the thresher's flail
The doubts
Inside your heart
